Roxana

Teacher & Mentor

Bio

Hello, I’m Roxana. I received my Honours Bachelor of Arts in English, History, and Philosophy from the University of Toronto. I also obtained my Master in Education from University of Toronto. My Masters thesis was titled Motivating Students in Applied English Classrooms. I am a member of the Ontario College of Teachers and certified to teach English and History for the Intermediate and Senior Divisions. Before obtaining my Masters, while studying at the University of Toronto, I was awarded a New College Council In-Course Scholarship.

My passion for teaching originated from my desire to help students realize and reach their potential. I strongly believe that a positive learning environment and good student-teacher relationships will greatly benefit students’ confidence and academic success. I hope to help students who are not receiving the individual attention they require in the classroom or who are otherwise not motivated at school. I also hope to help students gain confidence in their skills and their abilities so that they are willing to take on any challenge that comes their way. As a Scholars Education Centre Maple-Vaughan East teacher, my ultimate goal is to help students grow as students and as individuals.
