Teacher & Mentor

Bio

Hello, I’m Andrew. I completed my Biomedical Engineering undergraduate degree at Ryerson University. My 4th year thesis project was to build a wireless Intraoperative Neural Monitor (IONM), which is a device that monitors a patient’s neural integrity as they undergo neurosurgery.

I am currently completing my Masters of Applied Science in Biomedical Engineering at Ryerson University, and my thesis has expanded from the IONM to involve developing an automated neurosurgical system that employs a cutting laser, imaging laser, and robotic arm to facilitate tumor resection in the brain or spinal cord. I also teach the laboratory components of two undergraduate biomedical engineering courses: Microprocessor Systems and Biomedical Instrumentation.

I am committed to sharing my deep passion for science, math, and engineering with students at Scholars Education Maple/Vaughan East to help them excel in school and develop a love for creativity and ingenuity. Real-life results, for me, means helping my students find their ‘aha!’ moments of understanding throughout the curriculum.
